The beginnings
The dream of living in Torre Morgana began many years ago, when we realized that life assumed a value and a meaning in the moments we shared with our horses, immersed in nature.
Little by little we became aware that this was our desire and destiny, which would take us far from the city.
For some years we went in search of the place that could accommodate and satisfy our needs, looking for the place that contained all our needs and all that we have ever wanted.
In the spring of 2012 we arrived here, in Umbertide, and we fell in love with the greenery, the peace, the territory and the ancient watchtower that stood out on the hill.

The ideal place
The ancient watchtower, which is part of the stone farmhouse dating back to 1600, and our first horse, Morgana, give the name to this place. The main house is a typical Umbrian building, renovated respecting the surrounding environment and the architectural traditions of the area.
The hospitality that we offer you is very particular: you will not be considered as a client in a hotel but you will be treated as part of the family.
We will be happy to share with you our dream, our home and our time.

The farm
The farm is developed on about 10 hectares of land. We have a chestnut grove and a forest, in addition to the pastures where our horses and donkeys live. You can walk among meadows and woods where you will come across olive trees, hazelnuts, and other fruit trees (apples, plums, apricots, walnuts, almonds, figs, persimmons, cherries, medlars, pomegranate) used for our consumption, the production of jams and preserves.
In addition to this we cultivate the vegetable garden, always for our consumption and to prepare our fresh, healthy and seasonal menus.

The vegan cuisine
Torre Morgana’s cooking is exclusively vegan and reserved for guests staying there. Breakfast includes various types of organic tea, coffee, organic barley and cocoa, organic rice and soy milk, biscuits, vegan biscuits, homemade bread, organic jams, rice flakes, oats, spelled and homemade vegan cakes. Dinner is a set menu and includes a first course, main courses and side dishes, desserts, water, wine and coffee / herbal teas at the end of dinner. All the menu we offer is 100% vegan: tasty, healthy and cruelty free. Vegetables, fruit and oil are born in our company and from organic farms in the area. The wine is organic and vegan certified.
For our recipes we use fresh vegetables, so the menu is seasonal.

The horses and the riding school
Our horses live following the principles of natural housing: they graze all year round in wide spaces, where they can gallop, roll in the meadow, eat good grass in quantity, rest in the shade of the forest. They are also unrolled and mounted without embouching. We have educated them according to the principles of natural doma, without coercion.
Morgana is the first horse to enter the Friesian family. His activities are being brushed, scrape carrots and enjoy a quiet walk.
Twister is an Arab thoroughbred. It is an affectionate little horse and a lover of pampering. Very generous of heart and enchanting movement.
Trinity is a beautiful crossing of quarter and paint. Considered aggressive and not rideable, we tore it from the slaughterhouse. After a long and patient education and many pampering is now a balanced and affectionate horse.
Patty is a quarter, she was given to us in sweet anticipation. Now he is retired and makes the mother very thoughtful.
Brina is Patty’s filly. We called it that because it was born on a cold winter morning.

The love for the animals
With us live three dogs: Zoe, a female Australian shepherd, is a lover of walks, appreciates good food, but most of all good company. Macchia is an half-breed. Adopted at two months of life, in 2014. She loves being pampered, pampered and pampered. Bruschetta, the latest arrival, collected from the road in the winter of 2014. She dedicated herself to the guard of the house in particular of the food storage.
Also six cats are part of the family: Bettina, Giulietta, Tatoo, Teti, Pepe and Molletta.
Then there are our donkeys Rosa and Dodici, inseparable friends, Piccolina and her daughter Sofia. They share grass, meadows, woods and company with the horses. They participate, when and if they want, to small and quiet walks with the children. In return they demand some carrots and lots of cuddles.
Finally, two geese, Ninni and Tortuga, and a little duck, Papaia, live in Torre Morgana. They share with the hens Angelica and Giorgianna a beautiful fenced lawn with several wooden houses, a pond and a sandbox, where no one will hurt them anymore.
